Destinations & Routes 2012

This selection is the program for 2012, but there are many more possibilities and combinations.

This year Onas will be in the Mediterranean and ready to run day and weekend sailing Out of Barcelona. We offer sailing courses, we’ll participate in the best regattas and make great blue water cruising. We’ll spend the summer in Corsica and Sardinia and the Tuscan Islands
In January 2013 we will cross again the Atlantic ocean to the Caribbean Sea to spend the winter in the Lesser Antilles.

Weekend sails are the ideal way to try out sailing and yachting, and get to know the coast while having a very good time. Depending on the preferences of the group and weather conditions we will sail north to the Costa Brava, or south to the Costa Daurada.
We also suggest day sails with a special dinner and night on board, come and have a pleasant, relaxing evening and then enjoy sailing the next day.
Day sails or sunset sails are a great opportunity to enjoy the sea and the view of Barcelona’s skyline from the sea

Bonifacio Strait (Corsica and Sardinia)
“Le Bocche di Bonifacio”, as is known locally the strait between the islands of Corsica and Sardinia is one of the most attractive cruising areas of the Mediterranean. It is also the realm of "Maestrale", the NW wind blowing from the Gulf of Lion that accelerates considerably when passing trough the high coasts of the two islands. We’ll always have enough wind to sail, a windward coast to protect us from the swell and hundreds of anchorages sheltered from all winds.
We’ll sail along the N coast of Sardinia from the impressive island of Tavolara , where there are only a few houses but it holds a unique film festival, to the beaches of "Costa Smeralda" one of the most "chic" areas in the Mediterranean. Further north we’ll anchor in the archipelagos of Razzoli and Budelli and in the rocky landscape of the Lavezzi islands, close to corsica, the place of one of the most tragic shipwrecks in the Mediterranean. We’ll moor in the stunning natural harbor of Bonifacio. We can also sail westwards to the National Park Assinara and eastward to Porto Vecchio.
We’ll also explore the Corsican and Sardinian culture and gastronomy

Tuscan Islands
In August we will be based in Rome, Tuscan archipelago is a good area for cruising, with innumerable anchorages and many islands to visit, apart from its rich history, culture and dining. We suggest a round trip lasting ten days to sail to and discover some of the most beautiful and less touristy areas of Italy.
The group of seven islands (Gianutri, Giglio, Elba, Capraia, Gorgona, Montecristo and Pianosa) extends between Corsica and Italy. These islands, not very touristy and well preserved, are the island's version of the Tuscan countryside: rolling hills, forests to the sea, rocky coves, small beaches and red roofed villages. In Elba, the largest island of the group, there are several attractive anchorages protected from all winds and one of the most beautiful villages of Tuscany: Portoferraio, where Napoleon Bonaparte lived during his first exile. The island of Capraia, with only a tiny hamlet surrounded by mountains that are worth a walk, is one of my favorite places. We’ll sail near the mythical island of Montecristo (anchoring is forbidden is a natural reserve) and we’ll visit the beautiful and tiny islands of Giglio and Gianutri and some of the villages and anchorages of the Tuscan coast.
